 Kebbi Govt Donates 10 Hilux Vehicles to Boost Security on Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway  The Kebbi State Government has handed over 10 brand-new Hilux vehicles to the Federal Ministry of Works to strengthen security for personnel working on the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway project. The vehicles were formally received by the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, who praised Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasiru Idris (Kauran Gwandu), for the donation. Goronyo described the gesture as a clear demonstration of the state government’s commitment to protecting workers and contractors on the strategic highway corridor. He explained that the vehicles will be deployed exclusively to security operatives providing cover for construction teams along the section of the super highway passing through Kebbi State.  Zambian Truck Driver Allegedly Robbed and Raped in Durban A truck driver from Zambia was reportedly robbed and sexually assaulted by two unknown men in Durban. According to sources, when police discovered the victim, he was in a state of shock and unable to speak. Instead, he repeatedly gestured toward his back, indicating the area where he had been brutally assaulted. Authorities are investigating the incident, and efforts are being made to identify and apprehend the suspects.

 Protesters set police station ablaze in Ondo   Angry youths have allegedly set fire to a police division in Ifon, the headquarters of Ose Local Government Area in Ondo State, following the reported death of a boy in police custody due to alleged torture.  According to sources, the protesters carried out the act after learning of the victim’s death, while his friend remained in a coma at a hospital. It was gathered that another building in the area was also reportedly set ablaze during the unrest.  In response to the escalating tension, Ondo State Police Commissioner Wilfred Afolabi has departed Akure for Ifon to restore order and prevent further violence in the area.

  NAFDAC seals 3,000 shops in Lagos, seizes 12 truckloads of fake drugs The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has intensified its enforcement efforts against the sale of illicit and counterfeit pharmaceuticals, sealing over 3,000 shops within the Idumota Open Drug Market in Lagos in the first week of operations. This was made known in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday by NAFDAC. During the raid, officials uncovered alarming violations, including vaccines stored in dilapidated, unventilated rooms sealed with iron sheets, posing severe health risks.  Large consignments of banned and dangerous drugs were also discovered, including Analgin injections, diverted HIV antiretroviral drugs, and expired medicines slated for illegal revalidation.  One dead as Ogun Amotekun foils robbery on Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway Operatives of the Ogun State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun, have foiled a robbery incident on the Odogbolu corridor of the Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode expressway, Ogun State. The incident which happened in the early hours of Sunday, had one of the suspects gunned down and another identified as Amechie Okoro, arrested during a gun duel with operatives of the Corps. This was contained in a statement signed by the Corps Commander, Brigadier General Alade Adeditgba (retd) and made available to the press in Abeokuta. According to the statement, the arrested suspect led the operatives of the Corps to their hideouts which led to the arrest of one Micheal Oko, another gang member who had earlier escaped from the crime scene.  CATHOLIC PRIEST ALLEGEDLY BEATS UP A 50 YEAR OLD WOMAN MERCILESSLY WITH CANE, LEAVING VARIOUS SCARS ON HER BODY.  Reverend Fr. Jude Muokwe, a Priest of Roman Catholic Church, Awka Diocese has allegedly beaten up, assaulted and molested Mrs Ikeorah Maureen in her classroom during school hours for speaking against deduction of teachers' salaries. The victim is a widow, from Umuanugwo village, Ifitedunu. She's a Primary 6 teacher at Angel's Primary School, Ifitedunu where the Priest is a Manager.  The brutal cum traumatic incident happened on 12th February, 2025 in the presence of the pupils and the staff of the school, after the Priest reneged on a contract agreement he made with the School's Teachers over the pupils' lesson fees.  Mrs Ikeorah was said to have spoken out against Rev.  Mauritius ex-PM arrested in money laundering probe Police in Mauritius on Sunday arrested the island's former Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth in a money laundering probe and seized stacks of cash in raids on fellow suspects' homes, officials said. Officers detained the 63-year-old along with his wife Kobita Jugnauth on Saturday and questioned them for several hours, police sources who asked not to be named told AFP. Kobita Jugnauth was later released and Pravind Jugnauth was placed under formal arrest in the early hours of Sunday. Pravind Jugnauth's lawyer Raouf Gulbul told reporters: "He gave his version of events and denied the allegations made against him." He said the ex-premier would appear before a judge later on Sunday.
