 LAGFERRY BOAT FIRE The Lagos State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY) earlier today had a fire on one of its boats, Igbega Eko, at the Ipakodo Terminal in Ikorodu. Preliminary reports indicate that the fire started at about 6.45 a.m. There were 19 passengers on board. The inferno started after passengers had boarded the boat to depart the terminal.  All passengers were rescued alive. Nine of them who, unfortunately, sustained burn injuries are receiving medical attention at the Ikorodu General Hospital. They will be treated free of charge. Emergency protocols were promptly activated at the scene. LAGFERRY sincerely appreciates all responders, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), private boat operators, and other rescuers who worked tirelessly to contain the situation. The move is aimed at reducing spam and fraudulent calls by ensuring caller identity verification. To make CNAP a reality, major telecom companies such as Vodafone Idea, Bharti Airtel, and Reliance Jio are working with global tech firms like HP, Dell, Ericsson, and Nokia. The necessary equipment for trials has already been ordered, and initial tests have been conducted in select regions. The service will be introduced in phases once the technology is fully stabilized.
