 Foreign National Caught with Illegal Explosives at Beitbridge Border A 28-year-old Zimbabwean national was arrested at the Beitbridge Port of Entry on Friday, 16 May 2025, for possession of illegal explosives. The suspect was caught during a routine search at around 06:30 when a police dog detected suspicious items hidden in red 50kg polyester bags inside a trailer. The trailer was being towed by a white Toyota Quantum. Members of the Musina Explosives Unit were called to the scene and found the following items: 6 reels of detonating fuses 2,505 Superpower 90 blasting cartridges 100 Carmex connector capped fuses The suspect was charged for violating the Explosives Act and is expected to appear before the Musina Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 19 May 2025.  FAAC distributes N1.681 trillion April revenue to FG, States, Councils The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared a total of N1.681 trillion as revenue generated in April 2025 to the Federal Government, 36 States, and 774 Local Government Councils across the country. This figure, distributed at the FAAC meeting in Abuja on Friday, reflects an increase of N103 billion compared to the N1.578 trillion shared in March 2025. According to the communiqué at the end of the meeting, the total distributable revenue for April 2025 consisted of statutory revenue amounting to N962.882 billion, Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N598.077 billion, Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL) revenue of N38.862 billion, and Exchange Difference of N81.407 billion.
