 BENUE MAN COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER HE SOLD A PLOT OF LAND TO 3 BUYERS   A young man by name Mr Tartor Ayihe from Ayihe Village committed suîcide by taking snîpper earlier this evening after selling a plot of land to three different persons. Upon the Community Chief’s request, they all assembled for enquiry at his (Zaki’s Residence). He left the gathering with an excuse to get something in the house, he rather went to three different shops in search for snipper. He succeeded and went home, switched off his phone and drank the whole bottle of snîpper. Having waited for him for a longer time, the chief sent people to his house where it was discovered he drank snipper. He die.d on arriving at the hospital.

 2025 UTME registration Is Yet To Start--JAMB The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has clarified that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry is yet to commence. The board calmed the tension that has been boiling up by assuring prospective candidates that details of the registration process will be announced in due course. In a statement shared on its official X account on Wednesday, JAMB also advised the forthcoming candidates to begin preparations by securing their National Identification Number and a unique phone number. Candidates are also encouraged to familiarize themselves with the recommended texts to enhance their preparation. Additionally, JAMB has directed its staff to update their profiles or register afresh in preparation for the upcoming examination.

66-YEAR-OLD GEORGIA MAN BEATEN WITH A SLEDGE HAMMER AFTER OPENING HIS DOOR TO A FAKE AMAZON DELIVERY. (PHOTOS).

 66-year-old Georgia man beaten with a sledge hammer after opening his door to a fake Amazon delivery.  George Hardison was at his Savanah home on the morning of January 11th when he heard a knock on his door. He looked out to see what he thought was 2 Amazon employees and assumed he was receiving a package. Once Hardison opened the door for the delivery, the 2 men forced their way into the home and began to violently attack the 66-year-old man. The assailants proceeded to beat Hardison with a sledge hammer for approximately 8 minutes while demanding money. Security footage captured audio of the harrowing ordeal. In the footage, Hardison can be heard screaming for help throughout.   Eventually neighbors heard his cries and came running to help. Sadly, they arrived to late and discovered Hardison badly beaten. The theives had made off with a meagerly $80 from the injured elderly man. George Hardison ultimately needed 14 staples in his head as a result of the attack....

A PSYCHOLOGIST WAS ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY RAPING AND BLACKMAILING AT LEAST 50 GIRLS OVER THE PAST 15 YEARS IN INDIA. (PHOTO).

 Nagpur police have arrested a 47-year-old psychologist for allegedly raping and blackmailing at least 50 girls over the past 15 years.  The accused, a father of two, would lure young girls under the guise of offering counselling sessions at residential camps. Three cases have been registered against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. According to police, the accused conducted personal development camps in rural areas like Bhandara and Gondia, where he raped and sexually abused girls. He reportedly took explicit photographs of his victims and used them for blackmail to silence them. Even after some victims were married, the accused continued to threaten and abuse them. His crimes came to light when one of his former students lodged a complaint with the Hudkeshwar police, unable to endure the threats any longer. This directive, announced by the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, Salihu Enehe, during a media briefing in Lokoja, aims to reduce the financial burden on parents and guardians while promoting education in the state.  DRC jails Chinese men over 'illegally obtained' gold Three Chinese nationals have been sentenced to seven years in prison in the Democratic Republic of Congo's east after being arrested in possession of gold bars and large sums of cash, AFP reported. The court sentenced the men late on Tuesday for the illegal purchase and illegal possession of minerals in Bukavu, the capital of the gold-rich South Kivu province. The three men, who presented themselves during the trial as simple traders, were arrested in early January in a car. They were carrying 10 gold bars and $400,000 in cash, all of which was seized. The Bukavu court condemned the men to prison and handed them a fine of $600,000 for "illegal purchase and possession of mineral substances, lack of transparency, traceability in the exercise of mining activities and money laundering."  Kebbi Police Officer Rejects ₦1.6m Bribe from Banditry Suspects A police officer with the Kebbi State Command's State Criminal Investigation Department (SCIB) has turned down a ₦1.6 million bribe intended to compromise an ongoing banditry investigation. Kebbi Police Commissioner, Bello Sani, disclosed that Umar Garba from Dangandu village, Abubakar Alhaji from Maimaichi village, and Usman Muhammed from Bakaramba village conspired to offer the bribe in an attempt to influence the investigation. The bribery attempt occurred at the police command and led to the arrest of the suspects. House Speaker Mike Johnson announced the development on Tuesday via X, stating, “Today is a great day in America because House Republicans just passed @RepGregSteube’s Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act ensuring men cannot compete in women’s sports. Men are men, women are women, and men cannot become women. It’s just that simple.” This decision comes ahead of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration next week.  A Connecticut woman had her friend fatally run over her very recent ex-boyfriend after sending the now deceased ex a chilling final message.  The fatal incident happened in July but officials finally made the arrests yesterday.  The pair were arrested in connection with the vehicle VS pedestrian death that occurred in July, after investigators found a message to the victim stating, "I warned you" just  minutes before the deadly crash. 20-year-old Abbigale Whipple and 21-year-old Logan Diaz-Lopardo (second and third picture below)  were involved in an accident on July 27th. On that date, both Whipple and Diaz-Lopardo were in a vehicle that veered off of the roadway onto the shoulder and struck 24-year-old Kevin Gangell (pictured first).  Ex-Ghanaian President Akufo-Addo's Statue Destroyed A statue of Ghana’s former president, Nana Akufo-Addo, unveiled in November 2024, has been destroyed, sparking debate among citizens. The statue, located in the Western Region, had been erected to honour the president’s development initiatives during his tenure. However, it became a target of criticism, with many accusing the former leader of self-glorification amidst the country’s ongoing economic challenges. Images shared by local media on Monday showed the statue in ruins, with its severed head lying on the ground and its torso completely destroyed. Only a damaged pedestal remained.
