The Solemnity of Pentecost offers us peace - just as Christ Jesus assured His disciples - and this peace, we will have in abundance in our dear State.  As I spoke after the Holy Eucharistic Mass at the Government House Chapel, my heart was drawn to the difficult moments we have weathered together in our beloved State.  There were seasons of uncertainty and trials that tested our resolve and peace. Interestingly, the peace that reigns now is not accidental; it is a reflection of divine mercy and collective perseverance. My prayer, as we marked this holy solemnity, is for a sustained peace - one that anchors growth, fosters harmony, and paves the way for a brighter, more prosperous future for our dear State. - Hope Uzodimma.  More photos below.

A New York teen recently jumped from a bridge, taking his own life.  Community members are coming forward and stating it is another case of severe bullying. They want the truth out there.  This is a very emotional story. It needs told and it needs more eyes on it. I interviewed a community member associated with the unsuccessful and frantic rescue attempt of the teen. The person I interviewed lives in Oswego County, New York.  14-year-old Jomuel Rodriguez Fuentes sadly jumped from the Utica Street Bridge into the Oswego River at 12:10 a.m. on Monday, May 17th.  A Dekalb County Georgia basketball coach and 'local legend' is out of a job after a video of him spanking players with a shoe surfaces. Dr. Phillip McCrary was the longtime head basketball coach at Columbia High School and somewhat of a legend at the school. McCrary has won countless games and even has a gymnasium named after him. Now his long career has ended in a disgraceful way. A video was recently shared by a parent whose child previously attended Columbia High and played under Dr. McCrary. The parent and child wish to remain unidentified for fear of retaliation, however that doesn't change the alarming content of the video. The video which was captured last November while the team was playing a tournament in the Bahamas shows an inappropriate exchange between Dr. McCrary and a student.
