 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Abia State Government has fully enforced its procurement laws, making it mandatory for all contractors and vendors to register with the Due Process and Public Procurement Bureau before doing business with the State.


The Senior Special Assistant to the State Governor on Due Process, Dr. Oluebube Chukwu who stated this in an interview at his office in Government House Umuahia, revealed that before his appointment, many people and business owners were unaware of the bureau’s existence, adding that through deliberate reforms the Agency has become a key player in the governance structure of the State.


He assured Abians that the State’s procurement process now operates with efficiency and integrity that enables a seamless online registration system without bureaucratic bottlenecks, adding that one of the notable achievements of the bureau was its contribution to revenue generation of the State


While commending the State Governor for his commitment to due process, Dr Oluebube said the Governor has placed the “right pegs in the right holes” by revitalizing the bureau, which now boasts of 11 functional operating units, to include; administration, procurement, compliance, regulations, civil infrastructure, quantity surveying, legal, and finance.


He added that all payments for registration and certification of businesses are done online via www.abiapay.com to eliminate corruption.
