The Abia State Government has announced the final closure of the online update window for applicants in Batch Two of the 2025 teachers recruitment exercise, urging affected candidates to regularise their applications before the deadline to remain eligible for the next stage.
The announcement was contained in a statement signed by Dr Uzomaka Amah Mbah, Chairman of the Recruitment Committee, for the Commissioner, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
The statement, made available to newsmen in Umuahia, said applicants who have not yet generated their user identification and password must do so and complete their online application updates on or before 21 January 2026.
It explained that the window was opened as a final grace period to ensure that no genuinely qualified applicant is excluded from the process due to incomplete documentation or missing information.
According to the committee, any application that remains incomplete after the deadline will be rendered invalid and such applicants will not be shortlisted for the computer based test.
The government emphasised that the extension would not be repeated, noting that the recruitment process is being streamlined to uphold transparency, fairness and efficiency.
Applicants were advised to generate their login credentials through the official recruitment portal at https://jobs.mobse-abiastategov.ng and ensure that all required fields are completed accurately.
The statement cautioned that the submission of false or erroneous information could lead to outright disqualification at any stage of the exercise.
It also clarified that the portal is strictly for updating existing applications, as fresh applications are no longer being accepted.
The development is part of Abia State’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the basic and secondary education sector through the recruitment of qualified teachers to meet classroom needs across the state.
The recruitment committee reaffirmed its commitment to a merit driven process and urged applicants to take personal responsibility for completing their applications within the stipulated time.
