 Rita Daniels Loses AGN Presidency To Abubakar Yakubu Abubakar Yakubu has emerged as the new president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) after narrowly defeating Rita Daniels in a closely contested election. The poll was held on Saturday during the guild’s annual general meeting in Benin City, Edo State. Yakubu secured 116 votes to beat Daniels, who polled 113 votes, while three votes were declared invalid. The veteran actor and administrator takes over from Emeka Rollas. His victory is historic, as he becomes the first AGN president from northern Nigeria since the guild’s official registration in 1998. Yakubu previously served as national secretary from 2019 to 2025 and has also held other positions including national vice president, national treasurer, and public relations officer. A graduate of Dramatic Arts from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, the Kaduna-born actor brings over 25 years of experience in television, film, and stage productions to his new role.              These Ice Bucket  Challenge that started in America where by celebrities will be poured ice bucket of water to raise money for charity.People Oprah,Bill Gates and some other Hollywood celebrities have taken up the challenge.Now the challenge has extended to Africa and some of our celebrities are kicking against it people like Yvonne Nelso,Charles Novia,Joselyn Dumas are kicking against it but people like Davido,Don Jazzy,Genevieve Nnaji,Iyanya etc had been poured with Ice Bucket of water already.Lets tell ourselves the truth,whats the health implication after being poured with ice bucket of water?,just all in the name of charity i will fall sick afterwards and i will still donate my money.We should be smart about what kind of competition or challenges we involve ourselves.Don't forget there is Ebola,the person pouring you that water might be infected.Read Yvonne Nelson's messages below.                                                                                           .                                                                            Genevieve.
