 Madagascar foils plot to assassinate the president- prosecutor Thirteen people, including an army colonel, are facing charges in Madagascar over a foiled plot to assassinate President Michael Randrianirina. Public prosecutor Narindra Rakotoniaina said 11 of the 13 were in custody, while Col. Patrick Rakatomamonjy, one of the main organizers, was yet to be arrested. Rakotoniaina cited text and WhatsApp messages between the group as evidence of the plot, adding that the residences of some members were searched. "Some of those arrested confessed that 20 billion ariary ($4.8 million) found in the bank accounts was to be used to execute their plans," Rakotoniaina was quoted by local newspaper L'Express De Madagascar on Friday, Anadolu Agency reported.  She was failed by the courts and left to die while her small children watched. A Wisconsin woman who was denied a restraining order in February, was just k*lled by her estranged husband.  This heartbreaking story met its tragic end on Wednesday, April 1st, when officers with the Kenosha Police Department arrived at the home Makayla Plaza, to perform a welfare check. When officers knocked on the door of the home at approximately 6:20 a.m., Marckus Plaza answered the door. Marckus is Makayla's estranged husband. However, upon seeing an officer at the door, Marckus quickly slammed the door shut. This prompted officers to walk around the back of the home, where an officer looked through a basement window and saw Marckus trying to drag Makayla's lifeless body, possibly in an attempt to "hide" her.  Officers then began to force their way into the home, but as they gained entry into the home, Marckus was able to escape.  A 29-year-old woman committed su!cide shortly after her 11-month-old son accidentally drowned in a bucket of water at their home in Bengaluru, India.  The incident took place on Wednesday, April 1.  Pratibha, a software professional, was at home with her child while her husband, Mahantesh, was at work. At one point, Pratibha went to the terrace to collect her dry clothes. During this time, the child, identified as Agastya, is believed to have crawled into the washing area and accidentally fell into a bucket filled with water.  When Pratibha returned, she found her child de@d in the bucket.  Unable to handle her child’s de@th, Pratibha slit her wrist, consumed a few pills, and hanged herself to d£ath, officials said.  Later that evening, around 6:30 pm, when Mahantesh returned home, he found the door locked from the inside.  Ghana scraps visa fees for all Africans Ghana announces it will introduce a free visa regime for all African nationals in a move aimed at strengthening regional integration, tourism, and intra-African trade. In a post on social media platform X, Foreign Minister Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa says President John Mahama had approved the policy, which will take effect on May 25, marking Africa Day. “The Government of Ghana has decided to introduce a free visa regime for all Africans who wish to visit Ghana,” Ablakwa said, adding that the policy forms part of a broader effort to position Ghana as a leader in Pan-African unity, TRT Afrika reported.
