James Tolkan, Back to the Future and Top Gun actor, dies at 94 James Tolkan, the veteran actor famed for his role as the strict school vice principal Gerald Strickland in the Back to the Future series, has died at the age of 94. Tolkan passed away on Thursday in Saranac Lake, New York. A spokesperson confirmed his death on Friday, though no cause was immediately reported. He became widely recognized for portraying the stern principal who calls Marty McFly and his father “slackers,” a role he reprised throughout the trilogy, including portraying Strickland’s ancestors in the third film. In addition to Back to the Future, Tolkan appeared as naval commander Stinger in the 1980s blockbuster Top Gun. His career spanned decades, with credits including WarGames and Dick Tracy, and he continued acting in films and television through 2011. TWO STUDENTS KILLED, SEVEN INJURED IN SCHOOL BUS CRASH IN WEST TENNESSEE . (PHOTO).

 Two students killed, seven injured in school bus crash in west Tennessee   Two students were killed and at least seven others injured Friday when a school bus collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer and a Tennessee Department of Transportation dump truck on Highway 70 in Carroll County, west Tennessee. Officials said the dump truck did not appear to have contributed to the crash. The bus, carrying 25 students and five adults from Kenwood Middle School in Clarksville, was on a field trip to Jackson, Tennessee. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Maj. Travis Plotzer of the Tennessee Highway Patrol described the incident as “a parent's worst nightmare.” Four victims were airlifted to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in Nashville and were reported in stable condition, while 19 others were taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Carroll County for evaluation and released. The full extent of injuries among those involved has not been confirmed.

Albany Diocese agrees to $148 million settlement with clergy abuse survivors     The Albany Diocese has reached a $148 million settlement with survivors of child sexual abuse by clergy as part of its ongoing bankruptcy proceedings. Church officials said the agreement represents a key step toward completing a Chapter 11 plan and ultimately exiting bankruptcy. The settlement was approved by a tort committee representing survivors, with 186 additional abuse survivors participating in the case. Attorneys for the survivors called the resolution “a public acknowledgment of the harm” suffered and emphasized that while money cannot erase the trauma, the settlement ensures the survivors’ voices are recognized and holds the diocese accountable. The agreement still requires bankruptcy court approval and a vote by all survivors.  An Indiana man attempting to steal a semi of Bud Light led deputies on dangerous chase that left a patrol unit totaled and one officer running for his life. At 3 p.m. on Friday, March 27th, a heavily intoxicated Randall Baker noticed an unattended Bud Light semi at a liquor store on North Governor Street in Evansville,  Indiana. Randall presumably thought this was a golden opportunity and seized the initiative, hopping in and taking off. The theft was called in, and a short time later, Randall was spotted traveling on Diamond Avenue.  Deputies with Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop and were completely ignored by Randall. A police pursuit ensued that would come to a dramatic end on State Route 165 in Posey County.  TWO KILLED, SEVERAL INJURED IN AUTO CRASH IN KOGI COMMUNITY  A tragic road accident has claimed the lives of two persons in Alome Ejule, located in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, according to eyewitness accounts. Residents said the crash occurred within the community and left several others injured. Eyewitnesses identified one of the deceased as Shehu, said to be from Odu Okpakili Ogane in Ejule. The second victim, a woman, was reportedly from Agojeju Ejule. Sources at the scene disclosed that multiple victims sustained varying degrees of injuries during the accident. The injured were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment. Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incident.

 Power supply: Nigeria won’t get it  right in three and a half years- Gov Dapo Abiodun Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, says Nigerians must be patient as the challenges faced in the power sector can not be sorted in three and a half years. Speaking at the 2026 APC National Convention held in Abuja on Friday, March 27, Abiodun admitted that power supply has been inconsistent in recent weeks. “From the common man’s point of view, we have had problems with power supply in the last couple of weeks, but we will not get it right 100 per cent in three and a half years,” he said.  Gunmen kidnap six health workers in Ondo Suspected k!dnappers have abducted no fewer than six health workers during a midnight raid on a health centre in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure, the Ondo State capital. According to Tribune, the gunmen stormed the facility at about 2am on Saturday, March 28 in a bus, forcefully gained entry into the premises located opposite Mega School and rounded up all staff on duty. The assailants reportedly dragged the victims including interns into their waiting vehicle and sped off to an unknown destination. Patients receiving treatment at the time of the attack were left behind unharmed, but visibly shaken by the incident. The police is yet to comment on this development.

 He Was by Himself- Tiger Woods’ Girlfriend and Kids Not in Vehicle Tiger Woods was alone when he rolled his Land Rover on Friday afternoon in Jupiter Island, Florida, authorities and sources confirm.  His girlfriend Vanessa Trump, 48, and her daughters, Kai and Chloe, were not in the car at the time. The accident occurred around 2 p.m., according to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, who said Woods attempted to pass a utility pressure-cleaning truck and clipped the back of its trailer.  This caused his SUV to tip onto its side before coming to rest. Woods crawled out of the vehicle uninjured. Following the crash, Woods was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin said during the training, held along the Ikate–Elegushi corridor of the Lekki-Epe Expressway on Friday, that the Authority was ever committed to the safety and wellbeing of its frontline sanitation workers. The training focused on the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, masks, and safety boots, as well as the safe handling and disposal of hazardous waste materials.
