Image
Woman, 70, Goes Viral for Wearing Her 15-Year-Old Niece's 'Little Red Bikini.' This Was Her Reaction  A simple, offhand comment from her daughter ended up changing the way Nelson saw herself and what she felt comfortable wearing. “Lily just said it so casually, like it wasn’t even a big deal,” Nelson recalled. “That’s what really stayed with me.” For Nelson, the moment was unexpectedly eye-opening. She admitted that at a certain age, many people begin to feel there are things they are no longer “meant” to wear, but her daughter clearly did not see it that way. Encouraged by that relaxed confidence, Nelson later decided to try on the tiny two-piece swimsuit while she was alone, even though part of her initially wondered if Lily had been joking. The first feeling, she admitted, was vulnerability. “I felt a bit exposed,” she said. Still, rather than put it away, she found ways to make the look feel more like herself, pairing the swimsuit with a cover-up and a sun hat. As she ...

Macron reportedly invites Trump to Versailles dinner after G7 summit in France  French President Emmanuel Macron has reportedly invited President Trump to a dinner at the Palace of Versailles following the upcoming G7 summit in France this June, in what would mark a symbolic gesture tied to long-standing U.S.-French relations. The summit, set for June 15–17 in Évian-les-Bains, brings together leaders of major industrialized nations to discuss global policy, and France has adjusted the schedule slightly amid overlapping White House-related events, including a UFC fight and Trump’s 80th birthday festivities on June 14. The reported invitation for a post-summit dinner at Versailles is said to be intended to highlight the “shared history” between the United States and France ahead of America’s 250th anniversary on July 4. However, neither the French presidential office nor the White House has confirmed the report, and officials have not clarified whether Trump plans to attend the...

TEXAS COURT OVERTURNS DEATH SENTENCE OF MAN ON DEATH ROW FOR NEARLY 50 YEARS, ORDERS NEW SENTENCING HEARING. (PHOTO).

Image
Texas court overturns death sentence of man on death row for nearly 50 years, orders new sentencing hearing Texas’ highest criminal court has overturned the death sentence of a Harris County man who spent nearly five decades on death row, ordering a new punishment proceeding in the long-running case. Clarence Curtis Jordan, 70, was convicted in 1978 for the murder of Houston grocer Joe L. Williams, 40. Court records show Jordan was later found to be intellectually disabled and incompetent for execution, but for decades, he lacked consistent legal representation and was effectively left without an attorney for much of his time on death row. Jordan was assigned new legal counsel in 2024 after officials uncovered a backlog of delayed criminal appeals in Harris County, including cases that had gone unresolved for years. The discovery came amid efforts to clear a growing pile of pending post-conviction cases in the county’s courts. Following renewed legal review, the state’s highest cr...

Speaking after voting, Orbán expressed confidence in his campaign and thanked supporters, emphasizing his intention to win. “People were never really thinking about you” — veteran actor Vitalis Ndubuisi shares perspective on age and life Veteran Nollywood actor Vitalis Ndubuisi has shared a reflective take on life, ageing, and how people perceive others over time. In a recent statement, he broke down how priorities and concerns tend to shift across different stages of life. According to him, people in their 20s are often carefree and less concerned about public opinion. He noted that things begin to change in the 30s and 40s, when individuals start worrying more about what others think. However, he said by the time people reach 60 and above, they come to a realisation. “They realize people were never really thinking about them in the first place,” he said. Ndubuisi added that younger people tend to focus on the future, while older individuals reflect on the past, leaving those in between dealing with pressure and uncertainty.  Iraq parliament elects Nizar Amidi as president after months of deadlock amid regional conflict escalation Iraq’s parliament has elected Kurdish political figure Nizar Amidi as president, ending a months-long political stalemate that followed a parliamentary election which failed to produce a clear majority bloc. Amidi, a senior member of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, won the post after two rounds of voting in which he outpaced a field of candidates that included Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein of the rival Kurdistan Democratic Party. His election comes amid heightened regional instability linked to the broader conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Iraq has been caught in the middle of the escalation, with Iran-backed militias carrying out attacks on U.S. bases, diplomatic facilities, and energy infrastructure, while U.S. and Israeli strikes targeted militia positions in response, further intensifying security pressures inside the country. The planned shipment, which has not been publicly confirmed by Beijing, is said to involve man-portable air defense systems, or shoulder-fired missiles designed to defend against low-flying aircraft. Some assessments suggest the equipment could be routed through third countries in an effort to obscure its origin. When asked about the reports, President Trump warned that China would face consequences if it proceeds with the transfer, though he did not say whether he has recently spoken with Chinese President Xi Jinping. A planned summit between the two leaders, originally expected to focus on trade and tariffs, has been delayed amid rising tensions tied to the Iran conflict. Chinese officials hav...

New York man drops court fight to reclaim 12-foot alligator Albert after state seizure  An upstate New York man has ended his legal effort to regain custody of an alligator he lived with for more than 30 years after deciding the fight had become too exhausting and costly to continue. The 66-year-old owner, Tony Cavallaro, had been battling state officials over the removal of the 12-foot reptile named Albert, which was taken from his home in the Buffalo suburb of Hamburg in March 2024 after authorities arrived with a warrant. The alligator, which reportedly weighed around 750 pounds and lived in an indoor swimming pool, was sedated and transported by officials before being relocated to a sanctuary in Texas. Cavallaro challenged the decision after his license to keep the animal was denied, arguing that Albert had lived peacefully with him since he purchased the reptile as a young hatchling more than three decades ago. However, state officials said his permit had expired years e...

Image
Trump-backed Gaza 'Board of Peace' has received only a fraction of pledged $17 billion, sources say A U.S.-backed plan to rebuild and administer Gaza is facing major setbacks after only a small portion of the $17 billion pledged for the effort has been delivered, according to sources familiar with the initiative, stalling efforts to advance a postwar governance framework for the territory. The plan centers on a “Board of Peace” initiative that was presented at a Washington conference attended by Gulf Arab states, where donors pledged billions for Gaza’s reconstruction and future governance following two years of widespread destruction in the enclave. The initiative envisions rebuilding Gaza after the disarmament of Hamas and the withdrawal of Israeli forces, alongside the establishment of a transitional administration led by Palestinian technocrats. However, funding shortfalls have significantly slowed implementation. Of the countries that pledged support, only a few have repo...

The request comes as the trial was scheduled to resume, following Israel’s lifting of a state of emergency tied to its recent conflict with Iran after a ceasefire announcement earlier this week. While the defense said it is prepared to continue with testimony from a prosecution witness, it asked that Netanyahu’s own appearance be postponed. In the filing to the Jerusalem District Court, Netanyahu’s legal team said classified security and diplomatic matters connected to recent events across Israel and the wider Middle East prevent the prime minister from testifying for at least two weeks.
