 U.S Navy sailor scratched by monkey in Thailand during deployment to Strait of Hormuz mission A U.S. Navy sailor assigned to a minesweeping vessel bound for operations near the Strait of Hormuz was medically evacuated to his home port after being scratched by a monkey while ashore in Thailand, officials said. The sailor, an electronics technician aboard the USS Chief, was injured during a stop in Phuket when he came into contact with an Asian monkey on land. While officials did not identify the animal species, long-tailed macaques are common in the region and are known to behave aggressively in some tourist areas. After the incident, the sailor received initial medical treatment and was later transferred to the ship’s forward base in Sasebo, Japan for further care. Man killed, another injured in early morning double stabbing in Hell’s Kitchen, police say     A man is dead, and another is injured following a double stabbing in Hell’s Kitchen early Thursday morning. Authorities said officers responded just before 5 a.m. to an area outside a homeless shelter on Ninth Avenue near West 52nd Street. When they arrived, they found one man suffering from a chest wound and another with a stab wound to the stomach. Both victims were transported to a nearby hospital. The man who was stabbed in the chest was later pronounced dead, while the second victim is reported to be in stable condition. Police said the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle. The motive for the attack remains unclear. The area was cordoned off with police tape as investigators worked at the scene through the morning.  Gunmen kill Anglican priest in Adamawa The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced a full-scale investigation into the k!lling of an Anglican cleric, Rev. Emmanuel Ezeokwe.  The incident occurred on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 in Zinai Village, Bolki, Song Local Government Area of the state.  The spokesperson for the command, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Wednesday said suspected gunmen invaded the village and shot Ezeokwe.
