John Larson announced Tuesday that he has filed articles of impeachment against President Trump, citing the president’s recent social media post threatening to destroy a “whole civilization” if the Strait of Hormuz was not immediately reopened. Larson said Trump’s actions in the ongoing war in Iran are illegal and endangering American lives and the economy. The filing comes after Trump temporarily paused the strikes for two weeks following Pakistan’s request for an extended deadline to allow diplomatic efforts.  Dismissed Soldier 'Soja Boi' Challenges Nigerian Army to Release Payroll, Displays Bank Alerts as Evidence A dismissed Nigerian soldier, Rotimi Olamilekan, popularly known as Soja Boi, has dared the Nigerian Army to make its payroll public after sharing screenshots of bank transaction alerts which he claims prove that soldiers receive modest salaries and are often required to purchase their own protective gear. Olamilekan, a former lance corporal with service number 18NA/77/1009, made the claims in a video posted on Tuesday, just hours after the Army dismissed his earlier allegations as false and misleading. In the video, the ex-soldier insisted he was not out to tarnish the image of the Nigerian Army. “I am not trying to spoil the Nigerian Army’s image or make people look at them as if they are not good.  TRAGEDY IN WAMBA AS GROOM DIES ON WEDDING DAY A wedding in Wamba Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, ended in heartbreak on April 4, 2026, as Dr. Ayuba Amangut reportedly died in hospital on the very day he was to marry Miss Roseline Adamu. Family sources said all wedding preparations were complete, with the bride fully dressed and awaiting her groom’s return from the hospital. Tragically, Dr. Amangut did not make it back, succumbing to a brief illness while under medical care. Relatives described the loss as “devastating,” noting that the young man’s death was sudden and unexpected. “We had everything ready for the wedding. It is hard to accept that he will not be coming home to start life with Roseline,” a family member said. Neighbours have expressed shock and grief, offering prayers and support to the bereaved family as they mourn the loss of a promising young life.

 Man dies after cannon malfunctions and hits him during Passion of Christ rehearsal in Cross River A Mass Communication graduate of the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) and Passion of Christ actor, Michael Nnanke Obeten, died when a cannon malfunctioned and hit him during a Good Friday drama rehearsal.  The fatal incident occurred in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State.  According to vanguard, Obeten, who had played Jesus Christ in 2023 and 2024, was coaching young actors during the passion play when the incident occurred.  At station 12, where Jesus d!es on the cross, the cannon locally known as “oginigbo”, meant to create a thunder effect malfunctioned.  An 18-year-old was hanging out of the passenger side of a moving vehicle when she fell to her death.  Lani Hicks sadly lost her life at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 4th, just before Easter. The fatal incident occurred on Interstate 35 in Murray County, Oklahoma. According to local authorities, Lani was sitting in the front passenger window of a vehicle as it sped down  the interstate.  As the vehicle traveled, sadly, Lani lost her balance and toppled into the roadway where she was struck by multiple vehicles. No one else was injured in the incident.   Lani is remembered as vibrant and full of joy. Her loss is felt deeply throughout her community. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Lani Hicks.

STATE GOV'T APPROVES AUTOMATIC EMPLOYMENT OF 416 GRADUATING NURSES AND MIDWIVES   Yobe State, Governor ,Mai Mala Buni, has approved the automatic recruitment of 416 graduates of the Shehu Sule College of Nursing Sciences, Damaturu  The graduates comprise 158 Community Nurses, 196 Basic Nurses and Midwives, as well as 62 Higher National Diploma (HND) graduates in Nursing from the college. Governor Buni made the disclosure at the  graduation ceremony of student nurses and midwives held  in Damaturu.  Represented by his Deputy,. Idi Barde Gubana the Governor notes that the state government’s investment in the institution to meet personnel needs in health facilities across the state consistent with reforms initiated in the health sector is yielding positive results.
