 President Trump awarded inaugural FIFA Peace Prize at World Cup draw in Washington  Gianni Infantino, the FIFA President presented the honour onstage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, saying Trump had been selected “in recognition of his exceptional and extraordinary actions to promote peace and unity around the world”. “This is your prize, this is your peace prize,” Infantino said, after Trump took the stage to accept the trophy, a medal and certificate. “There is also a beautiful medal for you that you can wear everywhere you want to go.”   FIFA says the prize is for “individuals who help unite people in peace through unwavering commitment and special actions”.  Accepting the award, Trump called it “one of the great honours of my life”, before claiming to have “saved millions and millions of lives – the Congo is an example, over 10 million people killed and it was heading for another 10 million very quickly. Update: NSIB, NCAA Begin Investigation Into Aircraft Incident 

Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) says, investigation has commenced into the  incident involving a B737-400 with Nationality and Registration Marks 5N-MBD operated by Max Air.

The aircraft, with 144 passengers and Six crew members onboard was en-route Abuja from Yola when it had a tyre burst while landing on the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria.

According to a statement by spokesman for the NSIB, Tunji Oketunbi says, first responders arrived at the accident site and evacuated the passengers, adding that there was no injury or fatalities.

As investigation commences, the NSIB, solicit information from the general public in form of pictures, video or recording evidences to help assist in conducting a comprehensive investigation. 

In a related development, the Director General, Civil Aviation, Captain Musa Nuhu has assured the traveling public that, the authority and other aviation agencies would spare no efforts to ensure the continued safe flight operations in Nigeria as it has done over the years.

He however frowned on the sensational media reports of the incident, classifying it as a crash landing thus creating panic and concerns amongst the traveling public. 

Captain Nuhu, urged the media to always seek clarifications and information to make accurate reports on any situation.
