 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion. 10 Nigerians arrested in Benin Republic over alleged Boko Haram membership

Ten Nigerians have been arrested in neighbouring Benin Republic over alleged Boko Haram over suspicion of being members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorist group.

A Daily Trust report on Saturday morning identified the 10 arrested youths, all from Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi State, as Yusha’u Mohammed (38); Surajo Likita (25); Suleiman Usman (25); Ibrahim Umar (29); Nazifi Tahiru (18); Babangida Aliu (30); Usama Kabiru (25); Babawo Mohammed (35); Hamisu Dan Ashibi (25); and Ibrahim Rilwanu (25).

“They were said to be returning home from Benin Republic on Thursday, June 1, when they were reportedly arrested at Kaini Tunga village of Benin Republic by the country’s security operatives.

“The state said Benin Republic’s security personnel tagged them as “Boko Haram sect members,” adding that their monies, phones and other items were forcefully taken away from them.

“The report said they were taken to an unknown detention facility in Cotonou, Benin Republic, and all efforts to locate them proved futile,” the paper said.

It disclosed that Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasiru Idris, has sent a delegation to Benin Republic to facilitate the release of 10 detainees.

“The government delegation, headed by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Shafiu Abubakar, has met with the Ambassador, Federal Republic of Nigeria to Benin Republic in Benin and presented a letter to the ambassador seeking his input towards the release of the innocent Nigerians,” the report said.

It added that Governor Idris charged the delegation to explore all avenues within the ambit of the law to rescue the affected persons alongside their possessions.
