P.DIDDY'S FATHER WAS A DRUG DEALER AND DIDDY ATTENDED A CATHOLIC SCHOOL. (VIDEO/PHOTO). #NEW-FACTS.

PDiddy’s Father Was A Drug Dealer And Diddy Attended A Catholic School

At the time he met and married his wife, Janice, PDiddy’s father, Melvin Combs was serving in the US Air Force. Following his retirement, he started selling drugs on the streets of Harlem, New York.

During the late 1970s, Melvin Earl was one name that everyone in and within Harlem recognized.

Not only was he known for the local drug trade, but he also feared that neighborhood for his gang.

Unfortunately, it was during his drug transaction that he was killed after being misidentified as an informant. He was shot on January 26, 1972, at the age of 33 while sitting in his car on Central Park West.

He'd previously been arrested in 1971 for heroin possession and was found to have $45,000 in cash. His death was linked to a massive drug ring bust, though no one was ever held accountable for his murder.

Reports say he had ties to the convicted New York drug dealer, Frank Lucas and his name continued to ring the bell on the streets of Harlem.

Both Frank Lucas and rival Nicky Barnes were close to Combs. The connection between Melvin Earl Combs, known as P. Diddy's father, and Frank Lucas, the infamous Harlem drug dealer, has been a source of fascination for many. The impact of Frank Lucas' criminal activities on Melvin Earl Combs and his family is a story that has been shrouded in mystery and intrigue for decades.

Melvin Combs' name was well-known around Harlem during the 1970s, a decade marked by the opioid epidemic that devastated New York's low-income communities. Like many men living in that reality, Sean "Diddy" Combs' father was involved in the local drug trade, running in the same circles as convicted drug trafficker Frank Lucas, who inspired the Ridley Scott film "American Gangster."

Though he knew little about how his father, Melvin Combs died ,throughout his childhood,Diddy was able to put the pieces of the puzzle together rather easily.

“I noticed that guys from the streets in Harlem always seemed to know my family's last name," he told Oprah Winfrey. While Melvin's death was tragic, it unfortunately illustrated the reality in which Diddy grew up.

Diddy started at the Catholic boys school in the Bronx and later moved to Washington D.C., to attend Howard University.

According to Diddy, he got to know about his father’s identity and the truth of his death on the streets of Harlem. His mother had reportedly kept this information away from her children as a way of keeping them out of trouble. She also didn’t want them to have bad memories of their father or follow in his footsteps. it was also for this reason that she moved out of Harlem while they were growing up.
