 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion.  EPE CHAIRMAN CONFIDENT OF ELECTRICITY RESTORATION FOR FESTIVE SEASON


The Chairman of Epe Local Government Council, Princess Surah Animashaun, has assured residents of the council that her administration is committed to restoring electricity to Epe and its environs ahead of the Christmas and New Year celebrations.


She stated that necessary measures have been taken, and relevant authorities have assured a stable electricity supply during the festive season.


Speaking to journalists about the recent prolonged blackout in the Epe division, Princess Animashaun said, “We are fully committed to ensuring Epe enjoys a reliable and steady power supply once again. To achieve this, my administration, alongside other relevant stakeholders, is working diligently to enhance power infrastructure and resolve the challenges causing the outages”.


While acknowledging the broader challenges in the nation’s power sector, she attributed the prolonged outages in the council largely to vandalism of power cables and infrastructure. The Chairman emphasised the importance of proactive engagement with relevant authorities and community support to address the issue effectively.


“Our leaders and community members have demonstrated incredible dedication, resourcefulness, and commitment to ensuring power is restored in Epe. Their actions inspire us all and underscore the importance of collaboration for the betterment of our community”, she added.


Princess Animashaun stressed the critical role of community involvement in safeguarding energy infrastructure. She called for a united approach to prevent vandalism and foster development, prioritising the well-being of residents.


“Efforts are underway to ensure Epe enjoys uninterrupted power during the festive season and beyond. Reliable electricity is essential for daily life and celebrations, and we are working tirelessly to provide a stable supply”, she reassured.


The Chairman expressed her gratitude to key individuals and organisations for their contributions toward addressing Epe’s electricity challenges including Hon. Wale Raji, Hon. Abiodun Tobun, the paramount ruler of Epe, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola Animashaun (the Arolugbade Elepe of Epe Land), the National Youth Council of Nigeria (Epe Chapter) led by Comrade Moibi Ibrahim and Alhaji Akanni Sakiru Seriki-Bamu.


Princess Animashaun commended their unwavering commitment, stating that their dedication exemplifies genuine concern for the community’s welfare. “Our collective goal is to ensure comfort and joy for all during this festive season and beyond. Together, we are building a brighter future for Epe”, she added.
