South Sudan ready to resume oil exports South Sudan could resume oil production "as early as tomorrow" almost a year after fighting in neighbouring Sudan ruptured a key pipeline, the government said on Tuesday, AFP reported. The landlocked country's vital oil had been shipped to global markets from Port Sudan on the Red Sea, with Sudan taking a cut as a transit fee. But the pipeline was damaged in February clashes between Sudan's army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, dramatically denting the young nation's economy. After months of shutdown, South Sudan's government said production would resume from part of a facility operated by Dar Petroleum Operating Company (DPOC). DELHI POLICE ARRESTED A 23-YEAR-OLD MAN FOR DEFRAUDING MORE THAN 700 WOMEN THROUGH FAKE PROFILES ON DATING PLATFORMS. (PHOTO).

Delhi Police arrested a 23-year-old man, Tushar Singh Bisht, from East Delhi’s Shakarpur area on Friday for defrauding more than 700 women through fake profiles on dating platforms. Tushar, who worked as a recruiter for a private company in Noida during the day, posed as a US-based model at night. Using this fabricated persona, he manipulated and blackmailed women into giving him money by threatening to leak their private photos and videos.

According to the police, Tushar used a virtual international mobile number to create fake accounts on platforms like Bumble and Snapchat, where he pretended to be a US-based freelance model on a visit to India. He stole photos and stories from a Brazilian model to build his fake identity. His targets were women aged 18-30, whom he befriended online and convinced to share personal content. Over time, what started as a ploy for amusement turned into a systematic scheme of blackmail and extortion.

One of his victims, a second-year Delhi University student, filed a complaint with the Cyber Police Station in December 2024. She said she met Tushar on Bumble in January and moved their chats to WhatsApp and Snapchat. After sharing personal photos and videos with him, she faced demands for money under threats that her private content would be leaked or sold on the dark web. Though she initially paid a small amount, Tushar’s growing demands pushed her to inform her family and seek police help.

Tushar, who holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, had been working as a technical recruiter for three years. Despite having a stable job and a family in Delhi, including a homemaker mother, driver father, and sister working in Gurugram, he turned to cybercrime for money and personal gain. The police have urged women to be cautious on social media and dating platforms, warning against sharing personal content with strangers.
