 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring.  Man, 40, arraigned in Ekiti over alleged theft of goats


Mr Oriyomi said that the defendant and others now at large stole five goats valued at N600, 000.


A 40-year-old man, Olarewaju Mustapha, was on Thursday arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing goats.


Mustapha of no fixed address is standing trial on a charge of stealing.


He however pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against him.


The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, told the court that the defendant and others now at large committed the offence on May 1 at about 10 p.m., at Ipole Iloro- Ekiti.


Mr Oriyomi said that the defendant and others now at large stole five goats valued at N600, 000.


He said that the defendant was apprehended by the community and handed to the police.


He said the offence contravened Section 302(1) (a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.


The prosecutor asked the court for an adjournment to enable him to study the case file and present his witnesses.


Counsel to the defendant, Michael Olaleye, urged the court to grant his client bail, with a promise that he would not jump bail.


The Chief Magistrate, Abayomi Adeosun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum.


He adjourned the case until June 2 for hearing.
