12-year-old Arya Lebeau left her home in Southbridge, MA on Friday night for what her parents believed to be a harmless fun time. Arya, like many girls her age, was excited to be sleeping over at a friend's house. Sadly, within 24 hours Arya's parents would be making preparations for her funeral and wondering how they got to this point.
Arya's mother said she dropped Arya of Friday night and was told that there were adults in the home to supervise the children. However 2 short hours later she received a heartbreaking call. Somehow Arya had fallen from a 3rd story window of her friend's home.
Arya would not survive the injuries she sustained from what the Worchester County DA is describing as an "unattended death". She passed away early Saturday morning.
What led to Arya's unfortunate passing and exactly how she fell from the window is unknown at this time and an investigation is ongoing.
According to Arya's family members they have heard an argument over a piece of pizza could have led to Arya falling from the window. Others have heard the young girl was participating in some kind of game.
Arya's mother Charlene Cabrera stated, "I mean I want justice for my daughter, so if something did happen malicious, I would expect there to be justice for her".
With the investigation ongoing, both family and investigators are waiting for the medical examiners report following Arya's autopsy.
Our thoughts are with the family of this young girl who was taken from them too soon. We do hope they receive answers.
