Abia First Lady Urges Teachers to Nurture Pupils’ Potential, Distributes Educational Materials

Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, wife of Abia State Governor Alex Otti, has called on teachers across the state to identify and develop the potential of school pupils, emphasizing their critical role in shaping future leaders. Speaking on Friday in Umuahia during the first phase of the Safe Tent back-to-school outreach for the 2025/2026 academic year, Mrs. Otti described teachers as “the hand that holds the future” and urged them to teach with care and compassion.

The event, which included the distribution of educational materials to pupils, aligns with Governor Alex Otti’s free and compulsory education policy launched earlier this year. Mrs. Otti highlighted education as the cornerstone of development and transformation, noting that the donated materials aim to ensure unhindered access to education, particularly for children from vulnerable households.

“This initiative is a further boost to the free and compulsory education program introduced by my husband, Governor Alex Otti,” she stated. She assured that the Safe Tent outreach would expand to other parts of Abia State in subsequent phases to maximize its impact.

Mrs. Otti also encouraged parents and pupils to make effective use of the educational materials to unlock their potential. She expressed gratitude to key partners for their support in making the program a success.

The Safe Tent back-to-school outreach underscores the Abia State Government’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and fostering a brighter future for its young citizens.
