"They supervised the attack. They only want harm for Mali," recounts the man taken prisoner during the assault on the Bamako airbase on April 25, according to the corps' channel.
"My commander abandoned me and fled," the prisoner said in a video published by the unit, Sputnik reported.
Noting that he is a member of JNIM*, the prisoner admitted to having joined the group under the influence of terrorists. He confessed to killing civilians and taking their belongings on his commander's orders.
The prisoner also denied the terrorists' claims that, in the event of captivity by the Malian Armed Forces or Russian forces, torture and death are inevitable. He maintains that he is living "in good conditions" and being treated "humanely."
