Late last night, the LAWMA Project WISE Team (West Region) carried out an enforcement and monitoring exercise around the Igando axis, targeting indiscriminate waste disposal on road medians.

The operation led to the arrest of three offenders, identified as Islamiya Peju Ola (26), Matin Solomon (16), and Rukayat Oladipo (39), who were caught dumping refuse on the Igando road median.

Despite repeated public warnings, they continued to engage in such environmental infractions that defaced the environment and undermined public health and safety .

All apprehended individuals were handed over to KAI officers at the Oshodi Task Force Office at approximately 8:45 p.m. for prosecution in line with environmental laws.

LAWMA reiterates its zero-tolerance stance on illegal waste disposal. Residents, traders, and business owners are strongly advised to use only approved waste channels and desist from practices that degrade the environment.

A cleaner Lagos is everyone’s responsibility. Compliance is mandatory.
