 She fought hard for her life until the very end. A 23-year-old man took the life of a 42-year-old woman with a screw driver, but she did not go down easy. Police in Fort Wayne, Indiana, were called to the Arbors of South Towne Square apartments on April 27th at approximately 3 p.m. Neighbors had called 911 after hearing someone screaming, "Stop" inside the apartment along with sounds of a serious struggle. When officers approached the apartment, they discovered the door was barricaded shut.  Upon forcing entry, officers were met with a shocking scene. Kevin Smith (pictured below) and Erica Eggman were both lying on the floor, bloodied and nude.  As medical treatment was administered, it was discovered that Erica had multiple puncture wounds on her body, with at least 14 serious puncture wounds from the screwdriver in her head and face.  Officers found a Phillips screw driver they believed was used in the attack. Sadly, Erica passed away as a result of those injuries...

 Former vice-presidential candidate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has cast doubt on the possibility of Peter Obi gaining strong support from Northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking during a recent interview, Datti said it is “very unlikely” that the North would rally behind Obi, although he stressed that his position reflects his personal opinion. He added that he continues to hold “an excellent relationship and much respect” for key political actors. Datti disclosed that he had earlier advised Obi to begin building strategic alliances well ahead of the next election cycle. Continuation Of Coup Plotters Trial; Court Watched Video Of An Investigator   The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has watched the video recordings of an investigators' interview sessions with three of the six defendants being prosecuted over alleged plot to overthrow the government of president Bola Tinubu. In the video recordings, two of the three defendants  admitted being aware of the coup plot, while retired Major General Mohammed Ibrahim Gana denied knowledge of the plot. The video tendered by the prosecution, was earlier objected to by counsel to the defendants who raised objection on its admissibility on the grounds that their clients did not make the statements voluntarily. The defence lawyers also objected to having the recordings played in an open court when they were yet to be admitted in evidence.
