 M23 says hundreds of Burundi soldiers captured in latest Congo offensive The Rwanda-backed M23 group has captured hundreds of Burundian soldiers during its latest offensive in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo, a rebel official said, as clashes continued despite a warning from the Trump administration. Last week M23 entered the strategic town of Uvira near the border with Burundi, less than a week after the presidents of Congo and Rwanda met in Washington with U.S. President Donald Trump and affirmed their commitment to a peace deal known as the Washington Accords. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Saturday that Rwanda's actions in eastern Congo violated the Washington Accords and vowed to "take action to ensure promises made to the President are kept". Rwanda denies supporting M23 and has blamed Congolese and Burundian forces for the renewed fighting. BOKO HARAM STRIKES AGAIN WITH SUICIDE BOMBERS IN MAIDUGURI YESTERDAY BUT NIGERIAN ARMY CLAIMED SANITY HAS BEEN RESTORED.

                    According to military sources,suspected Boko Haram militants attacked Nigeria northern city of Maiduguri in orno state yesterday wednesday from a cashew plantation a few kilometers from the Giwa barracks.Residents said they heard hearvy shooting and explosions on the outskirts and began fleeing their homes.The fighting began around 6:45pm before subsiding by around 9:00pm.Maiduguri has not been attacked since two major takeover attempts in late January and early February and several bombings in March.A security source who participated in the operation,said they fought off several hundreds insurgents which included suicide bombers.''Sme civilian youth vigilante who went to battle may have lost their lives''.The military source further said that ''Were they were trying to evacuate some women from a community behind the Giwa barracks when a bomb exploded from a woman suspected to be a suicide bomber''.The Director Defence Information,Major General Chris Olukolade who confirmed the incident,said ''The attack was apparently diversionary with the intention of slowing down the ongoing assault on Sambisa forest.He noted that the attack is believed to have been carried out by those escaping from the terrorists location that have been routed or destroyed ,but normalcy has been restored as the troops conduct mopping up of the area while the offensive on all terrorists forest locations continue''.One more picture below.                            Maj.
