 FG ARRAIGNS 400 TERRORISM SUSPECTS The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi (SAN), has arraigned for prosecution over 400 terrorism suspects.  Judiciary Correspondent Austin Anyebe reports that the trials are taking place in different courts at the Federal High Court complex in Abuja.  A team led by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi SAN supported by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), is prosecuting the suspects. Similar mass trial took place in April 2026. In that trial out of 508 defendants, the AGF's office secured 386 convictions, with 8 discharges and 2 acquittals.  Many of the convicts received prison sentences of up to 20 years.  The defendants are facing charges linked to terrorism, aiding and abetting insurgent activities, and financing. BOKO HARAM STRIKES AGAIN WITH SUICIDE BOMBERS IN MAIDUGURI YESTERDAY BUT NIGERIAN ARMY CLAIMED SANITY HAS BEEN RESTORED.

                    According to military sources,suspected Boko Haram militants attacked Nigeria northern city of Maiduguri in orno state yesterday wednesday from a cashew plantation a few kilometers from the Giwa barracks.Residents said they heard hearvy shooting and explosions on the outskirts and began fleeing their homes.The fighting began around 6:45pm before subsiding by around 9:00pm.Maiduguri has not been attacked since two major takeover attempts in late January and early February and several bombings in March.A security source who participated in the operation,said they fought off several hundreds insurgents which included suicide bombers.''Sme civilian youth vigilante who went to battle may have lost their lives''.The military source further said that ''Were they were trying to evacuate some women from a community behind the Giwa barracks when a bomb exploded from a woman suspected to be a suicide bomber''.The Director Defence Information,Major General Chris Olukolade who confirmed the incident,said ''The attack was apparently diversionary with the intention of slowing down the ongoing assault on Sambisa forest.He noted that the attack is believed to have been carried out by those escaping from the terrorists location that have been routed or destroyed ,but normalcy has been restored as the troops conduct mopping up of the area while the offensive on all terrorists forest locations continue''.One more picture below.                            Maj.
