 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. FG, LABOUR SET 8-WEEK DEADLINE FOR CONLUSION ON SUBSIDY INTERVENTION

 
The Federal Government has set up a steering committee to come up with a framework for delivering the expected intervention presented by the organised labour following the removal of petroleum subsidy.

The framework for is to be presented by August 14, 2023.

This was part of the resolution reached on Monday during a meeting between the federal government and representatives of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) led by its president, Joe Ajaero, and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) led by Festus Osifo held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, The Special Adviser to the President on Communications, Special Duties and Strategy, Dele Alake said “We reconvened today. And then, both parties went through this list. And we ticked off the viable ones; those things are broken into three different categories; the immediate, those that are low-hanging fruit, then the medium term and the long term.

“There’s a steering committee that will be like a clearing house. Where are there other work groups set up comprising both parties, government and labor members, and these work groups will work together very, very harmoniously and efficiently to arrive at the final resolution of all those demands; what we call interventions,” Alake said.
