LGA POLL: Command deploy adequate personnel, and restrict vehicular movement to ensure public safety.

In preparation for the upcoming Local Government Councilor Election on August 17, 2024, the Bauchi State Police Command has implemented thorough security measures to ensure the safety of all citizens at the 5013 polling units across the state. The aim is to provide a fair environment for all political parties during the election process.

Additionally, to maintain public order and prevent potential disturbances, vehicular movement will be restricted from 7:00 AM to 4: 00 PM on Saturday, with exemptions for essential services such as medical personnel, journalists, and emergency services.

While the Command empathizes with the inconveniences these measures may cause, it urges all eligible voters to abide by the law and participate in the election without fear or intimidation. The Command also emphasizes that decisive action will be taken against any individuals or groups attempting to disrupt the peaceful conduct of the election.

Furthermore, the Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Muhammad psc, Anipr, calls on parents, traditional rulers, religious leaders, opinion leaders, and guardians to encourage their wards and subjects not to be used for disturbances before, during, and after the election. The Command clearly warns all criminal elements in the state to desist from any activities that threaten the safety and security of the state, as law enforcement agencies will not hesitate to confront and neutralize violators by the law.

The Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and urges the public to fully cooperate with law enforcement agencies. It is encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station.
