 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  SWAN Urges Gov Abiodun to Boost Publicity for National Sports Festival


The Ogun State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has called on Governor Dapo Abiodun to give greater publicity to the upcoming National Sports Festival, warning that current underreporting is creating a communication gap.


In a communiqué issued after its congress in Abeokuta, SWAN emphasized the need for a functional media center at the MKO Abiola Stadium and urged the rehabilitation of dressing rooms and the medical bay to meet global standards.


SWAN also appealed for land allocation to revive the abandoned FIFA Goal project, noting it comes at no cost to the state. While commending the state’s investment in sports infrastructure, the group advised against concessioning the stadium after the festival, advocating instead for public access to promote talent discovery.
