 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean.  ANAMBRA GOVERNMENT COMMISSIONS PSA MEDICAL OXYGEN PLANT IN ENUGWU UKWU

GENERAL HOSPITAL

The Anambra State Government has taken a significant step towards improving healthcare services in the state with the commissioning of a Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA), Medical Oxygen Production Plant at Enugwu Ukwu General Hospital.


The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Afam Obidike while inaugurating the plant on Thursday, August 21 at the Enugw Ukwu General Hospital, Njikoka Local Government Area, noted that the aim was to boost healthcare delivery in health facilities in the state especially in making Oxygen readily available with affordable prices anytime it is needed.


According to Dr. Obidike, the oxygen plant will provide a consistent and reliable supply of oxygen, reducing dependence on external suppliers and minimizing the risk of shortages. "This development is expected to improve patient care, enabling doctors to deliver timely and effective treatment.


"It will also reduce transportation costs for hospitals in the area, as they will no longer need to travel long distances to access oxygen,’’Obidike said.

 Additionally, the plant will enhance emergency responses, particularly in mass casualty incidents.


Dr. Obidike expressed gratitude to the Global Fund, the federal government, and the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) for their collaboration in building the well-equipped oxygen plant, which includes a power generator set.


The commissioning ceremony was attended by key stakeholders, including the hospitals administrator, Dr. Frank Ifeanaeme, Director of Medical Services, Dr. Ugochukwu Chukwulobelu, the Head of Enugwu Ukwu General Hospital, Dr. Dozie Udeolisa, and representative from the federal government, Mrs Grace Izuwa ,  NACA representative,Oxygen Desk Officer, Mr Chizoba  Nwabashili, among others.


This initiative is part of the state government's efforts to upgrade healthcare infrastructure and improve patient care. The people of Enugwu Ukwu and surrounding areas can now access quality medical oxygen, a vital resource for saving lives.
