 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Delta State Governor Oborevwori, Omo-Agege, Senator Dafinone Mourn Death of Industrialist, Oskar Ibru


Prominent politicians have paid glowing tributes to renowned Delta State Industrialist, Olorogun Oskar Eyovbirere Ibru, describing his death as a huge loss to Delta State and Nigeria at large.


Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, described Ibru’s passing as painful. “Oskar Ibru was a pillar of Delta’s economic and social life. His contributions to commerce and philanthropy will be remembered for generations. We have lost a rare gem.”


Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, expressed deep grief, calling the death heartbreaking and describing Ibru as a great valued son of the Urhobo nation. “Oskar Ibru was not just a businessman, he was a visionary who inspired many of us in politics and public service. The Urhobo nation has lost a great valued son whose legacy will stand the test of time.”


Senator Ede Dafinone representing Delta Central senatorial district, also paid tribute, noting that the Urhobo nation has lost one of its strongest pillars. “Oskar Ibru was a beacon of hope and development. His legacy of enterprise and community service will remain indelible.”


Olorogun Oskar Eyovbirere Ibru was a Nigerian billionaire businessman and investor, the first son of the late business mogul Olorogun Michael Ibru, and the Head of the Ibru Organization. 


He passed away on 24 September 2025 at the age of 67, leaving behind a legacy of enterprise, philanthropy, and leadership that will long be remembered.
