Enugwu-Agidi Women protest over alledged Landgrabbing in the community by the President-General, Ebuka Onuorah.

According to a report by the Punch on Saturday, September 27, 2025, thousands of women from Enugwu-Agidi community in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State organized a massive protest on Friday against alleged land grabbing and authoritarian leadership by their community's President-General, Ebuka Onuorah.

The protesters, comprising predominantly elderly and middle-aged women, marched through the community carrying placards and singing protest songs while appealing to Governor Chukwuma Soludo to intervene in the growing crisis.

The Women Leader and Chairlady of Etiti village, Mrs. Grace Aghauche, articulated the collective frustration of the demonstrators, declaring: "We are the women of Enugwu-Agidi. We are here to let the world hear our cry.

The protesters accused Onuorah of systematically encroaching on community lands and distributing properties among his associates with impunity. They expressed particular concern about the potential for violent conflict if the situation remains unresolved, warning that the community stands on the brink of mayhem.

The women vowed to resist any attempts to deprive their children of their inheritance and condemned the alleged use of security personnel to intimidate community members who challenge the President-General's authority.

In response to the protest, the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Agidi, Igwe Michael Chidozie Okekeuche, acknowledged receiving the petitions and urged calm while assuring that efforts were underway to address the concerns.

However, the accused President-General categorically denied all allegations, maintaining that he does not belong to the land committee and suggesting that grievances should be properly channeled through established community structures rather than public demonstrations.
