Anthony Joshua’s driver Kayode, set to Face Life Sentence

An Adeniyi Kayode, aged 47, has been identified as the driver involved in the fatal road crash which severely injured Nigerian-British professional boxer Anthony Joshua, and resulted in the tragic d€ath of his friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.

Recall that the accident occurred on the 29th of December 2025 along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Kayode on the other hand has said that he has worked as Anthony Joshua's driver for three years, noting that what happened was beyond his control.

"I wasn’t overspeeding or driving recklessly. My brakes failed. I kept pressing the pedal. What happened was an accident. I have been Anthony Joshua’s driver for three years", Adeniyi Kayode explained.

The police however say that investigations are still ongoing as they work to determine the full circumstances leading to the collision, but also stated that Kayode may face life in sentence based on his crime against the Nigerian constitution.

Additional updates are expected as the case moves through the courts.
