Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. Netflix releases posthumous Eric Dane interview following ALS death

Eric Dane did not believe in life after death.

“I think when the lights go out, it’s over,” he said in an interview for Netflix’s “Famous Last Words.” “Once we’re gone, we’re gone.” In the episode, he reflected on his life and expressed hope that his two daughters, Billie and Georgia, would remember the moments he was present—attending beach volleyball games, dance recitals, and even watching “The Nutcracker” multiple times, joking that it “drones on.” Dane, known for his roles in “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Euphoria,” died Thursday, less than a year after announcing his ALS diagnosis, a terminal nerve disease. “Famous Last Words,” adapted from a Danish series, records interviews that are only released after the guest’s death. Dane’s episode is the show’s second, following an episode with Jane Goodall. Executive producer Brad Falchuk noted the interviews are conducted privately, with minimal crew, to allow guests to speak freely and leave a lasting message.

Following his ALS diagnosis, Dane became an advocate for research and awareness, lobbying lawmakers and participating in fundraising efforts. Clips released by the organization I AM ALS highlight his dedication to supporting patients and their families. In the Netflix episode, Dane also shared personal reflections, including the loss of his father at age seven, past struggles with addiction, and joyful family memories. His final message, delivered directly to the camera, was dedicated to his daughters, emphasizing the importance of being present and finding love in life. Falchuk described the taping as one of the most revealing conversations Dane had ever had, noting the deep connection that formed between them during the filming.
