  The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), has warned residents against indiscriminate dumping of refuse as such unhealthy behaviour portends negative consequences for the environment. According to a statement signed by the Managing Director of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, the State government, through Ministry of The Environment and Water Resources, had, since the beginning of the year, embarked on a massive cleaning and desilting of canals, drainages and water outlets to ensure the free flow of water during rainfall. He, however, pointed out that despite all efforts and commitment of the government some people still dump refuse indiscriminately into drainages, canals and water outlets, thereby frustrating the efforts of the State government in ensuring a floodless and clean environment for the people.
