Church Members Beat Up Pastor After He Asked Them To Pay ₦16K each To Unlock 2022 Blessings Pastor James Mugo, the General Overseer of Wings of Blessings Africa Church, has reportedly landed in hospital after he was beaten up by members of his church. According to reports, trouble started on New Year eve service when Mugo, demanded for N16,000 from every member of the church to offer prayers to God for them to unlock the new year’s blessings. The clergy purportedly threatened that failure to pay the money, the members would be cursed not to receive the 2022 blessings.

 PRESS STATEMENT LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT MEETS WITH STAKEHOLDERS ON THE MAGODO SHANGISHA DISPUTE At a meeting chaired by Mr. Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola-Sanwo-Olu, at the State House Alausa, on the 5th of January 2022 with the Judgment Creditors (Shangisha Landlords’ Association), their lawyers, Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command, Policemen from the F.C.T Command and Police Headquarters, the Executive and Trustees of the Magodo Residents’ Association and senior Government Officials, the enforcement of Judgment of the Supreme Court delivered on the 10th of February 2012 in suit no. SC/112/2002 was deliberated upon and the following resolutions were arrived at: 1.      That the Committee set up by the State Government to resolve the Magodo dispute, chaired by the Hon. IKOYI COLLAPSED BUILDING: SANWO-OLU TO IMPLEMENT PANEL’S REPORT   Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, set up a four-man committee led by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, an engineer, as a first step to the implementation of the report submitted by the Panel, which investigated the collapse of a 21-storey structure on Gerrard Road in Ikoyi. Other members of the committee are Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola; Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Mr. Moyosore Onigbanjo (SAN) and his Agriculture counterpart, Ms. Abisola Olusanya, who is an architect. The Governor constituted the committee after receiving the report of the Panel at Lagos House, Ikeja. It was submitted by the chairman of the panel, Mr. Toyin Ayinde, a town planner. Mai Mala Buni in 2019 aimed at creating jobs, improving revenue generation and stabilising economy at large. The markets are spread across Potiskum, Damaturu, Nguru and Gashua towns respectively. 1. 2023: Uzodinma Can’t Stop Me From Running For Presidency – Okorocha Senator Rochas Okorocha has alleged that Governor Hope Uzodinma is plotting to stop him from running for the presidency in 2023. He said, “I have been a governor for eight years and I am now the Senator. I will not be contesting for governor again neither am I contesting for senate or House of Representatives. I am only going federal. My only problem with him may be is because I want to contest for presidency, which he’s trying to stop me or my son-in-law who may probably contest with him in 2023. But let tell you, Uzodinma cannot stop me from running for presidency and if he wants to try, I am waiting for him.”

 Retired Soldiers Protest 24 Months Unpaid Pension Arrears  Some retired soldiers under the Coalition of Concerned Veterans have protested the non payment of their pension arrears for the past 24 months. The veterans who gathered at the Ministry of Finance headquarters, Abuja, insisted on getting answers to their demands, else they will continue protesting and demanding for their rights. They were seen with placards on which various inscriptions were written. One of such placards reads, “CCV demands immediate payment of security debarment allowance.” Another reads, “Military veterans demand 24 months arrears of minimum wage approved.”. More photos below.
