Protesters Broke Down NASS Gate, Force Way Into Premises The protest by the Organised Labour against is getting intense as protesters, on Wednesday, morning broke down the first gate of the National Assembly (NASS) complex and forced their way into the premises. The protesters subsequently moved to the second gate of the Assembly Complex. The Organised Labour including the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC) and their affiliate unions, today, kicked off a protest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and other states of the Federation including Lagos, Abia, Plateau, Kaduna, Kano, Rivers, Zamfara, Katsina, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Kwara, Ogun, Imo, Ondo, Benue and Edo. The protesters in their hundreds convened at the Unity Fountain from where they marched to the NASS Complex. Senate President Godswill Akpabio is expected to address the protesters ahead of today’s screening of ministerial nominees. More photos below. 

Oyo Workers Continue Protest, Beat Up Colleagues For Non-Compliance Protesting members of the Nigeria Labour Congress, in Oyo State, disrupted activities at the State Secretariat, Agodi as their ongoing protest continued on Tuesday. Some civil servants who ignored the directives of the labour union to join the protest were however not spared as some of them were beaten and chased out of their offices. A civil servant was reportedly injured in the process after he was attacked by the protesters. The victim who was bruised in his legs claimed to have entered the office to pick up some of his belongings when he was confronted by the protesters. The aggrieved labour activists barricaded the entrance to the secretariat complex as they wielded sticks to enforce the strike action. This also affected the flow of vehicular traffic along the area. Governor Fintiri Dashes Out Five Million Naira To Victims Of Fire Disaster In Yola Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has dashed out five million naira to the victims of Inferno at Yola market. Governor Umaru Fintiri donated when he visited the victims at the market in Yola on Tuesday. He commiserated with the victims and assured them that the government will modernise the market. The representative of the Yola South LGA Council Chairman Mr Nathaniel who is the vice chairman thanked the Governor for the visit.
