 NDLEA mourns late Access Holdings CEO Wigwe The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,  NDLEA, condoles with the families, friends, staff of Access Holdings and Nigerians in general, over the death of Mr. Herbert Wigwe, members of his family and others in the tragic chopper crash of February 9, 2024, in California, United States of America. The death of Mr. Wigwe, co-founder of Access Bank and CEO of Access Holdings, was a colossal loss to the nation.  Mr. Wigwe was an outstanding Nigerian, an icon of the banking profession, and a model of selfless service to humanity, who, in his ways, strove to make the Nigerian narrative better. NTSB RELEASED THE SITE OF THE TRAGIC CRASH THAT KILLED WIGWE AND FIVE OTHERS. (PHOTOS).

 The United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) have released the site of the tragic crash that killed the  Chief Executive Officer of Access Holdings, Herbert Wigwe, and five others. The Airbus EC130 helicopter crashed close to the California-Nevada border near Halloran Springs, killing Wigwe, his wife Doreen, their son Chizi Wigwe and former Nigerian Exchange Group Chairman Abimbola Ogunbanjo. In the photos released on Tuesday, Feb. 13, two officials of the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) were seen inspecting the debris of the ill-fated helicopter.  Notorious Kidnappers Arrested In Abuja, N9m Ransom Recovered Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police command have arrested seven notorious kidnappers in Abuja, recovering N9 million ransom. The police commissioner in FCT, CP Benneth Igweh, while parading the suspects at the command on Wednesday, said the wanted kidnappers were arrested by operatives of the Utako police division led by CSP Victor Godfrey in a coordinated operation at Tudun – Wada Lugbe and Pyakasa area of Trademore. He gave the names of the wanted kidnappers as Usman Muazu from Kwali, FCT, Aliyu Mohammed, from Pumpomare area of Borno state, Awwal Dahiru, who hails from Gwagwalada area council of the FCT, Rabi Sani, from Safana, Katsina state and Madina Abubakar, from Gulu, Lapai local government area of Niger state.  Port Harcourt Court Jails Internet Fraudster for $5,000 Fraud   Justice P. I. Ajoku of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state has convicted and sentenced an internet fraudster, Chukwuema Samuel Andrew to 30 (thirty months) imprisonment for impersonation and obtaining money under false pretence.   He was jailed on two-count charges bordering on obtaining under false pretence and impersonation upon  being arraigned by the Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.   Count one reads: "That you, Chukwuema Samuel Andrew (A.K.A Mary Parlier) sometime in April, 2021 at Port Harcourt, Rivers State within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court with intent to defraud did obtain the sum of $5,000 (Five Thousand Three Hundred Dollars) Crystal Shepherd under the pretext of being Mary Parlier, a female military soldier serving in Yemen as a computer operator, a pretext which to your knowledge was false and the...

  EFCC Arrests Two for Currency Racketeering in Abuja Operatives of the Abuja Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC,  on Tuesday,  February 13, 2024 arrested two suspected money racketeers, Adigun Johnson, an Ordinary National Diploma,  OND,  graduate of Public Administration and James Friday an artisan  at a  nightclub in Wuse Area of Abuja. The suspects were arrested with the sum of N3, 480,000.00 (Three Million Four Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira), in their possession and three Point of Sale POS machines which they allegedly used to carry out their activities. Their arrest followed surveillance and intelligence by operatives of the EFCC on currency abuse and mutilation. The suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
