After trying to dodge it briefly, Seymon did what many of us have done to avoid horse flies, hornets, or wasps while swimming, he dove in. Seymon doesn't remember exactly how he dove in or landed, he only remembers waking up face down in the pool unable to move.  Fortunately one of his friends was immediately aware of the danger Seymon was in and was able to get him to the surface. Emergency crews took him to the hospital where he remains with extensive injuries to his neck and spinal cord.
