 In a first for Indian Railways, an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) has been successfully tested inside a train coach.  The trial took place on Tuesday inside an air-conditioned coach of the Panchavati Express, which runs daily between Manmad in Nashik and Mumbai. This ATM facility is part of a joint effort by the Bhusawal division of Indian Railways and the Bank of Maharashtra. The ATM worked smoothly during the journey, with only minor interruptions when the train passed through the no-network zone between Igatpuri and Kasara, an area known for its tunnels. Despite the short signal losses, the ATM continued to function well and served its purpose. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared a video of the ATM on social media, calling it the first of its kind in India. This unique idea came from a meeting under the Innovative and Non-Fare Revenue Ideas Scheme (INFRIS) by the Bhusawal division.  Russian military kill Ukrainian troops in ambush – Zelenskyy Russian forces killed several Ukrainian troops in an ambush in the city of Toretsk. This was disclosed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a post on his X account on Easter Sunday. Zelenskyy, who did not mention the number of Ukrainian troops killed, said: “In the Toretsk direction, our warriors, unfortunately, were caught in a Russian ambush. There are fatalities.” According to the Ukrainian leader, those responsible for the attack will certainly be eliminated. “The Russian military who committed this will be destroyed,” he vowed. This development comes just days after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced what he described as an “Easter ceasefire” from April 19 to April 21. Ukraine and Russia have been at war for over three years as of today. Thousands of casualties have been recorded in both neighbouring countries.

 IVF: UI Raises Alarm As Female Students Trade Egg For Money The management of the University of Ibadan has raised concerns over the increasing number of female students engaging in egg donation as a source of income. In a memo dated April 15, 2025 but cited by PUNCH Online on Friday, the University Health Service warned that while egg donation has brought hope to many families struggling with infertility, it should not be seen as a permanent source of income or a side hustle. The internal memorandum was signed by the Director of the University Health Service, Dr Aderonke Ajayi. Ajayi lamented the growing trend within the university community involving the recruitment and participation of female students as egg donors for In-Vitro Fertilisation, often through individuals, agents or agencies.
