 HAJJ 2026: 1600 LAGOS PILGRIMS ARRIVE SAFELY FROM MAKKAH The 1,600 Lagos pilgrims who participated in the just-concluded Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have all arrived safely to join their respective families. The safe arrival of the last and final batch of 187 pilgrims on Saturday marked the conclusion of the 2026 Hajj operations. Speaking to journalists at the tarmac of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, the Amir-ul-Hajj and State Commissioner of Home Affairs, Ibrahim Layode said that the spiritual exercise was a success for Lagos State. The Commissioner who attributed the success to the exemplary conduct of the pilgrims while in the Holy Land maintained that the State also made adequate arrangements by engaging critical stakeholders ahead of the journey. GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA GOES TOUGH ON ILLEGAL SECURITY TASKFORCE ON PETROLEUM MATTERS.{PHOTOS}.#PRESS RELEASE.


Gov. Hope Uzodimma has ordered for the arrest and prosecution of individuals and groups parading themselves as members of security taskforce on petroleum matters in the State.


The Governor has mandated the Imo State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro to see to the arrest and prosecution of any person or group of persons found impersonating the State Government tagged petroleum security taskforce.


According to Gov. Uzodimma, Imo State Government is yet to constitute a security taskforce on Petroleum Matters therefore, anyone or group of people working on such capacity risks being arrested.


In his words, "there is no security taskforce on Petroleum Matters set up yet with terms of reference and job specifications handed over to anybody or group".


"The public is advised to be wary of those parading as Government security Taskforce on Petroleum Matters and report them to the appropriate authorities".


Imo State Government will do everything within its powers to bring to book, those involved in impersonating the Government and its agencies, Gov. Hope Uzodimma assures.
