 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has on Friday attended the funeral service in honour of late Priscilla Nnenda Chikere (Nee Wolugbom).

 

The funeral service that was conducted by the Grace Garden branch of Living Christ Mission, Port Harcourt held at the Rivers State Ecumenical Centre.

 

Late Mrs. Priscilla Nnenda Chikere, 96 years, was the mother of Hon. Ken Chikere, the federal lawmaker representing Port Harcourt Federal Constituency 1 at the House of Representatives.

 

In his tribute, Governor Wike said, he and his wife grieved at the news of the demise of a beloved mother who offered the best to her children. 

 

According to Governor Wike, late Priscilla Nnenda Chikere was a warm, caring, and devoted mother who nurtured  her children well, and  was kind to friends and members of the community. 

 

"Certainly, Mama's death is a great loss, not only for you but also a personal loss for me and for all those whose lives she touched with her uncommon life of devotion to service of God and care for humanity,  and which will continue to keep her memory in our minds forever. "

 

In his sermon, Rev. Ezeakolam Ibekwe exhorted the congregation to strive to make meaningful contributions to humanity as a way of enhancing the quality of life they live on earth.

 

Rev Ibekwe who noted the quality of life that late Priscilla Nnenda Chikere had lived to fulfil her mission on earth, charged the congregation to prepare for death always and do so by ensuring that they have reconciled their life with God in order to make heaven.
