 Kaduna Targets ₦120bn IGR In 2026 — KADIRS Chairman   Kaduna State has set an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) target of ₦120 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) expected to play a central role in achieving the target. The Executive Chairman of KADIRS, Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, FCE, CNA, disclosed this during the Service’s Annual Performance Review, Work Plan, and Strategic Retreat.  He explained that although the state government approved ₦74 billion as KADIRS’ official revenue target, the Service raised its internal benchmark to ₦80.09 billion to motivate staff to exceed expectations. He further stated that the proposed 2026 budget by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission stands at ₦117.28 billion, with KADIRS expected to generate ₦74.28 billion, while Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) are projected to generate ₦43.24 billion.  PRESIDENT BUHARI GREETS FIRST INDIGENOUS RAILWAY MD/CEO, ELDER NATH OKORO, ON 92ND BIRTHDAY

 


President Muhammadu Buhari rejoices with the first indigenous Managing Director of Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC), Elder Nath C.U. Okoro, on his 92nd birthday, congratulating the veteran for his pioneering work on rail transportation in the country.

 

President Buhari felicitates with friends, family and associates of Elder Okoro on the auspicious occasion, giving glory to God for long life and strength, particularly considering his contributions to national development, with the commendable record of founding the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT).

 

As the former MD of NRC turns 92, the President notes his service to the country, and passion for ensuring an effective transportation system, serving as the Principal Consultant, Federal Urban Mass Transit Programme (FUMTP) and President of the Chartered Institute of Transport, Nigeria, now known as Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT).

 

As the former Vice President, West Africa, of the Union of African Railways (UAR), the President extols Elder Okoro for representing Nigeria creditably in sub-regional and global associations, and ensuring that the interest of the country comes first in all negotiations.

 

The President prays that almighty God will grant Elder Okoro good health and strength to further see the fruits of his dreams for the railways.
