 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville. Police arrest man for snatching woman’s phone in Jigawa

A 30-year-old housewife Halima Ya’u narrowly escaped death after a phone snatcher attacked her in Kadoma village, Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
A resident told DAILY POST that the phone snatcher took advantage of her husband’s absence and sneaked into the house.
He said the attacker asked the woman to hand over her phone which she refused. He attacked her with a knife, inflicting cuts on her body and made away with the phone.
Police spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
According to him, “on 22/09/2023 at about 0400hrs, a distress call was received from Kadoma village Jahun LGA that an unknown person trespassed into the house of one Halima Yau attacked her with a knife which as a result she sustained injuries on her face and back and took away with her phone.”
He said on receiving the report, a team of policemen was mobilized to the scene where the suspect was arrested and the exhibit was recovered.
He said the suspect confessed to the commission of the offense and will be taken to court for prosecution after an investigation.
