 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Police arrest man for snatching woman’s phone in Jigawa

A 30-year-old housewife Halima Ya’u narrowly escaped death after a phone snatcher attacked her in Kadoma village, Jahun Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
A resident told DAILY POST that the phone snatcher took advantage of her husband’s absence and sneaked into the house.
He said the attacker asked the woman to hand over her phone which she refused. He attacked her with a knife, inflicting cuts on her body and made away with the phone.
Police spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam confirmed the incident.
According to him, “on 22/09/2023 at about 0400hrs, a distress call was received from Kadoma village Jahun LGA that an unknown person trespassed into the house of one Halima Yau attacked her with a knife which as a result she sustained injuries on her face and back and took away with her phone.”
He said on receiving the report, a team of policemen was mobilized to the scene where the suspect was arrested and the exhibit was recovered.
He said the suspect confessed to the commission of the offense and will be taken to court for prosecution after an investigation.
