500 Labourers Join Dubai Police Community Sports Event at Dulsco Sports Complex

The Dubai Police recently organised a community sports event for 500 male and female labourers at the Dulsco Sports Complex, aimed to encourage a healthy lifestyle and improve physical fitness among the workers.

The event was attended by Major Aqeel Al Zaqri from the Bur Dubai Police Station and Ms. Fatima Bouhajeer, Chairperson of the Positive Spirit Council, along with several other police officers and council members.

The event was a collaborative effort between the Cultural Diversity Section of the General Department of Community Happiness, the Bur Dubai Police Station, and the Positive Spirit Council. It featured various activities, including yoga competitions and tournaments, as well as awareness sessions on topics such as workers' rights, traffic safety protocols, and information about emergency (999) and non-emergency (901) contact numbers. The event also included displays of luxury police patrols and a musical performance by the Dubai Police musical band.

Ms. Fatima Bouhajeer highlighted the Council's commitment to collaborating with all entities that support the promotion of sports and encourage participation in various physical activities. She indicated that this helps reinforce a healthy lifestyle, mainly through yoga, which contributes to the happiness and well-being of the community.

"Yoga provides positive energy, improves physical fitness, and offers both physical and mental benefits. It enhances flexibility and mobility, boosts mood, and alleviates negative states such as tension and stress, ultimately leading to a sense of freedom. The practice of yoga exercises also stimulates the production of feel-good hormones," Bouhajeer continued.

After the event, the participating entities were recognized and honored for their collaborative efforts in making the event a success.
