 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Aremo Alao Gets Federal Appointment


A former two- time Commissioner in Osun State, Aremo Adekunle Alao, has been appointed as a Federal Commissioner representing Osun State, in the Federal Public Complaints Commission.

His name was among the 22 nominees sent for appointment as Chairman and Members of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) by President Bola Tinubu and as announced on the floor of the Senate by the President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, in compliance with Section 2(1) of the Public Complaints Commission Establishment Act.

The new Federal Commissioner holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of Jos.

The appointment is for a five year term renewable for a second term subject to the confirmation of the National Assembly.
