 NNPCL denies selling employment slots


The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPC Ltd) has dismissed circulating rumours that it is selling employment slots to Nigerians. In a statement issued on Saturday in Abuja, the company made it clear that these claims are false and the work of fraudsters seeking to exploit unsuspecting job seekers.


Olufemi Soneye, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd, signed the statement, condemning the rumours as baseless. "These are antics of fraudsters who want to take advantage of unsuspecting applicants," Soneye stated. He emphasized that the national oil company does not engage in selling job opportunities and that such practices should not be associated with the firm.


The NNPC Ltd urged Nigerians to disregard these false claims and warned against making any payments to individuals claiming to offer jobs at the company. "We call on members of the public, especially job seekers, to discountenance rumours of employment slots for sale," the statement read. The company reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness in its recruitment processes.
