 BADAGRY ANGELS WIN LAGOS SOFTBALL TOURNEY  Badagry Angels have been crowned champions of the Lagos U-15 Softball Championship held recently at the Badagry Grammar School playing field, Badagry. The five-day tournament, which began on November 11, 2024, ended on Friday, November 15 where eight teams participated in the competition designed to drive the growth of the sport at the grassroots level. As Champions of the tournament, Badagry Angels showcased their dexterity and skills against Rak Angels in the grand finale, maintaining their good position and dominance on the field before finally trouncing their opponents 9 runs to 1.  Kwara Lawmaker, Hon. Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, Mourns Captain Muhammad Gobir


Hon. Arinola Fatimoh Lawal, the member representing Ilorin East Constituency in the Kwara State House of Assembly, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of one of her constituents, Captain Muhammad Ahmad Gobir.


In a statement made available to Just Event Online TV, , Hon. Lawal described the late Captain Gobir as a dedicated and honorable individual who served his community with distinction.


She extended her heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time.


"Captain Muhammad Ahmad Gobir was a true son of Ilorin East, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace," Hon. Lawal stated.

  SSANU, NASU threaten strike over withheld salaries The Joint Action Committee of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions have threatened to disrupt industrial peace in universities should the government fail to release the withheld salaries of members. The salaries were seized by the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari during their strike in 2022. The unions, in a joint letter signed on Friday by the President of SSANU, Muhammed Ibrahim and General Secretary of NASU, Peters Adeyemi, questioned the rationale with which the government released four months withheld salaries to members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities but failed to release the withheld salaries of non-academic staff.
