 Trial begins of Central African ex-president Bozize over war crimes A UN-backed court in the the Central African Republic will on Tuesday begin the trial in absentia of former president Francois Bozize, over crimes against humanity committed between 2009 and 2013. The alleged crimes committed by members of Bozize's security forces include murder, enforced disappearance, torture and rape. Bozize, 79, who seized power in a 2003 coup before being overthrown 10 years later by rebels, has been living in exile in Guinea-Bissau since March 2023. But three of his former senior military officers, Eugene Barret Ngaikosset, Vianney Semndiro and Firmin Junior Danboy, are all in pre-trial detention in the Central African Republic. Crimes against humanity The case will be heard by the Special Criminal Court (SCC), a hybrid jurisdiction located in the capital Bangui with Central African and foreign judges. Nigerian veteran actress Mama Ereko has made shocking revelations about her late husband's emotional abuse and infidelity during their marriage. In a recent interview, Mama Ereko shared disturbing details of how her husband's behavior affected her.


According to Mama Ereko, her husband would often bring his girlfriends home, even when she was present. She recalled being sent on errands to accommodate his mistresses, who would spend the night in their home.


Mama Ereko confessed that she felt angry and helpless, fearing her husband's reaction if she confronted him. "Sometimes my husband would send me on an errand because his girlfriend wanted to pay him a visit in our house," she said.


The actress revealed that her husband's behavior was not only emotionally abusive but also humiliating. "My husband brought home his girlfriend, and she would sleep in our home. I usually get angry, but I cannot challenge my husband because I was always afraid of him," she added.
