 HAJJ 2026: 1600 LAGOS PILGRIMS ARRIVE SAFELY FROM MAKKAH The 1,600 Lagos pilgrims who participated in the just-concluded Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have all arrived safely to join their respective families. The safe arrival of the last and final batch of 187 pilgrims on Saturday marked the conclusion of the 2026 Hajj operations. Speaking to journalists at the tarmac of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, the Amir-ul-Hajj and State Commissioner of Home Affairs, Ibrahim Layode said that the spiritual exercise was a success for Lagos State. The Commissioner who attributed the success to the exemplary conduct of the pilgrims while in the Holy Land maintained that the State also made adequate arrangements by engaging critical stakeholders ahead of the journey.  EFCC Charges Staff on Professionalism  &  Integrity


 


The Acting Zonal Director of the Gombe Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC,   Deputy Commander of the EFCC,  DCE Sa'ad Hannafi Sa'ad  has charged staff of the Zone  to imbibe the core values of the Commission and eschew corruption in the discharge of their duties.


 


Sa'ad gave the charge in Gombe on April 28, 2025 during his maiden meeting with staff of the Directorate.  


 


"I charge you this morning to adhere to the core  values of the Commission which include  integrity, courage,  professionalism and collaboration in   discharging  your duties and achieving the vision and mission of the Commission",  he said 


 


On how to achieve the mandate of the Commission and 2025 set target , he said, 


 


"We shall be strategic on operational tactics, the use of  intelligence and collaborating with sister agencies maximally to facilitate seamless information sharing to boost our  duties  to achieve our mandate "


 


Sa'ad also warned  staff against engaging in corrupt practices adding that he will not condone such acts as it is unbecoming of staff of the Commission,


 


 "The Executive Chairman , Mr. Ola Olukoyede is trying his best to improve staff welfare and we must appreciate the gestures and maintain integrity. We must eschew all forms of corruption.  Staff must  adhere to the EFCC's  staff regulations", he said.


 


He concluded by encouraging staff to work in unity through consistent hard work as success of the commission is success of all.


 


" I appreciate you all for the achievement of 2024 , the achievement was  through dedication , hard work and  team work. The tempo should  be maintained as individual success is the success of the Directorate and the Commission at large", he said.
