Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen step out in coordinated black looks for New York stroll Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare joint appearance in New York City, stepping out together for a relaxed afternoon in matching, understated fashion. The 39-year-old twins were seen walking through Midtown Manhattan on April 30, dressed in coordinated black trench coats paired with wide-leg denim. They completed the look with sunglasses, scarves, and structured alligator handbags from their luxury label, The Row, before stopping for lunch during their outing. A VIDEO SHOWING A COUPLE BEING DENIED ENTRY TO A RESTAURANT IN PITAMPURA, DELHI, BECAUSE THE WOMAN WAS WEARING INDIAN ATTIRE HAS TRIGGERED A STORM OF OUTRAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA.(VIDEO/PHOTO).

A video showing a couple being denied entry to a restaurant in Pitampura, Delhi, because the woman was wearing Indian attire has triggered a storm of outrage on social media. The couple, dressed in a salwar kameez and a T shirt with pants, claimed they were stopped at the gate while others in revealing western outfits were allowed inside. The footage quickly went viral, sparking strong public condemnation.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has ordered an immediate investigation, calling any form of attire based discrimination unacceptable. Tourism and culture minister Kapil Mishra also termed the incident intolerable and directed officials to ensure the restaurant is held accountable.

In response to the backlash, Neeraj Agarwal, the restaurant’s owner, issued a public apology. He stated that no dress code policy exists and attributed the misunderstanding to overcrowding during a peak reservation period. The restaurant has now posted a notice welcoming guests in Indian attire and announced special discounts for women in traditional outfits during Raksha Bandhan.

The episode has ignited a wider debate on the respect for cultural clothing and the rights of establishments to set dress codes. While many have slammed the restaurant for cultural insensitivity, others have defended the autonomy of venues, underscoring the fine balance between personal expression and business discretion.
